Clear Protection From The Sun's Harmful Ultraviolet Rays

Did you know drivers in the U.S. have a higher rate of skin cancer on their left side due to exposure while driving?

Here’s a scientific fact that most people find hard to believe:  While it’s rare to get sunburned through your car windows, harmful ultraviolet (UVA) rays that contribute to premature aging and skin cancer can still reach you. Damage from UVA rays is cumulative as they penetrate deep into the skin and can silently accelerate the aging process, cause wrinkles and even skin cancer. In fact, research shows that drivers in the U.S. have a higher rate of skin cancer on their left side due to exposure while driving.

Why put up with this risk when you don’t have to any longer? LLumar UVShield is a virtually clear film that blocks more than more than 99.8% of harmful UV rays. It’s why The Skin Cancer Foundation recommends it as part of a comprehensive skin care program.

Question: Why does someone need UVShieldTM window film?
Answer. Automotive glass (except windshields) and ordinary architectural glass found in homes and offices only protect occupants from UVB rays. It has been found that UVA rays have detrimental effects on humans such as premature aging of the skin , cancers of the skin and eye disease such as cataracts and age related and macular degeneration. UVShieldTM provides 99.9% UVA and UVB protection. UVShieldTM window film also carries the Skin Cancer Foundation's Seal of Recommendation for use as a device for the protection of skin.

Question: Why would someone want UVShieldTM instead of conventional glass tinting?”
Answer. Many individuals do not like 'a tinted appearance'. They are afraid they will not be able to see out and prefer a clear appearance on their vehicle. UVShieldTM at 70% visible light transmission on glass provides a virtually clear appearance in cars or in homes. Also in many states automotive tinting is either illegal or has limited application.

Question: Why would someone care whether their tinting is 99% or 99.9%?”
Answer. If an individual has any type of sun sensitivity they want the highest level of protection available. UVShieldTM at 99.9% covers a wider range of UVA wavelengths than other films.

Question: Does UVShield provide the same degree of solar protection as darker tinted films?”
Answer: No, because UVShieldTM has such a high light transmission it does not provide the heat and glare reduction of darker (50%, 35%, etc.) glass tinting.

Question: How long will the film last?”
Answer: UVShieldTM has a lifetime warranty to the original owner of the vehicle or home against cracking, peeling and bubbling. The ultraviolet absorbing properties of the film may change very slightly over the lifetime of the film depending on atmospheric conditions. Individuals with medical conditions and UV sensitivity should have their film checked after 3 years by an authorized UVShieldTM dealer to ascertain any change, which they feel may be detrimental. The warranty does not cover replacement for UV absorbency changes.
Question: Are there competitive products equal to UVShieldTM?”
Answer: No, UVShieldTM is unique. UVShieldTM is a patented process created by CPFilms, and CPFilms is the only company making a film with this unprecedented level of UV protection.
Question: Will UVShield prevent my home and vehicle interiors from fading?”
Answer: No film product prevents fading entirely. Fading is a chemical reaction to a combination of heat, light and ultraviolet. While UVShieldTM will reduce fading and interior damage, no product eliminates fading.

Question: Why does UVShieldTM cost more than some of the traditional films?”
Answer: Because it is difficult to make a high light transmission product with such a high level of UV absorbers and still maintain good optical clarity.
